Clarity: clarity a lot of people think is hard to understand. When trying to understand clarity, think of it as a piece of glass. When the pizza glasses dirty it is harder to see the other side may become foggy or dingy looking. On the other hand when the same plea to glass is clean it is now easier to see to the other side and looks almost completely transparent allowing maximum of light to shine through. This is clarity in layman’s terms. Clarity is rated from: FL-I3, FL being the clearest or cleanest piece of glass.I3 being the dirtiest foggy or dingy as piece of glass. For the average consumer a clarity of VS/SI is considered to be good. Obviously anything higher than that is better anything lower is not as good.
Carat: carat is referred to the size of the diamond, but maybe also referred to the size of all diamonds in one specific ring. For example, for strictly a solitaire diamond ring the carat size is referring to the size of that specific one diamond, one carat diamond ring. For a ring with multiple diamonds carat would be referred to as the size of all diamonds combine in that one ring, also known as carat total weight. But can also be broken down into individual diamond sizes. Example: a three stone diamond ring has 3 .20 point diamonds for a total carat weight of .60 . Carat size has a lot to do with the cost of any specific diamond.
To sum it up if you’re looking for a diamond ring whether it be a multi-diamond ring were a solitaire diamond ring suggestions would be for the average consumer: G/H color diamonds, VS/SI clarity diamonds, type may be less important in this situation, and select carat size suited to your budget .for the more budget conscious consumer, it is suggested that you get less clarity and stick with the same color range. Lowering the color grade as well as the clarity will sometimes substantially lower your spending cost. Obviously anything higher in color or clarity, carat size and cut proportions will increase one spending cost.
