It is said that the true worth of a diamond is determined by its clarity, cut, carat and color. Generally, people evaluate the worth of their money by diamond’s color and size but they are really naïve about its cut. In fact, the cut of a diamond is a major factor in establishing its price.
The cut in a diamond is really important as a small mistake in cut can ruin the whole piece so, it should be done intelligently and carefully that enhances the look and beauty of the piece. Therefore, it totally depends upon the expertise and magic of cutter’s hand in shaping up the raw stone into the refined glittering gem that lays its impact on its wearer for forever.

The day is here you have decided you want to ask her to marry you, but first you have to get the engagement ring. You have never invested so much money before, and your worried because you have no idea what you are doing. There are some simple rules when buying an engagement ring some are very easy to learn and others will take a little bit of time educating yourself on the subject at hand. Lets begin with the most important question the one that all of you should ask yourself before you start.
How much to spend?
Spend what ever you want, and what you can afford. Why am I saying this? There is the standard rule out there that you have to spend two months salary on your diamond engagement ring I do not take to this rule of thought spend only what you can afford.
Know what she likes:
Have you looked at her jewelry to see if she is wearing white gold or yellow gold, does she prefer “platinum”? If you do not know you should take the time to find out you look at her hands see her bracelets, her earrings, necklaces what color gold are they. If she does not wear any jewelry then you might just have to come out and ask her what she likes.

Cut: this is referring to how the diamond is actually cut Not the sheep of the diamond. It is suggested that if you were looking for a good diamond and perhaps not the best diamond. Then cut should not way is heavily as the other four C’s. Alternatively, if you are looking for a great or even that are diamond. Then cut has to be weighed equally.
Color: this is referring to the actual color of the diamond. Diamond color is graded from D/Z when looking for a good diamond. It is said to stay within the G. H. range. When looking for great or better diamond. It is said to stay within the D. E. F range. D, being the whitest of white, going into, G H which is still considered white or yellow tones are not seen by the naked eye. Really the average consumer does not need a deep color diamond and it is advised to stay away from J or lower color range diamonds.
Clarity: clarity a lot of people think is hard to understand. When trying to understand clarity, think of it as a piece of glass. When the pizza glasses dirty it is harder to see the other side may become foggy or dingy looking. On the other hand when the same plea to glass is clean it is now easier to see to the other side and looks almost completely transparent allowing maximum of light to shine through. This is clarity in layman’s terms. Clarity is rated from: FL-I3, FL being the clearest or cleanest piece of glass.I3 being the dirtiest foggy or dingy as piece of glass. For the average consumer a clarity of VS/SI is considered to be good. Obviously anything higher than that is better anything lower is not as good.
Carat: carat is referred to the size of the diamond, but maybe also referred to the size of all diamonds in one specific ring. For example, for strictly a solitaire diamond ring the carat size is referring to the size of that specific one diamond, one carat diamond ring. For a ring with multiple diamonds carat would be referred to as the size of all diamonds combine in that one ring, also known as carat total weight. But can also be broken down into individual diamond sizes. Example: a three stone diamond ring has 3 .20 point diamonds for a total carat weight of .60 . Carat size has a lot to do with the cost of any specific diamond.
